World Series Game 7 Captures Over 50 Million Audience Members Across the US, Canadian and Japanese Markets.
The exciting extended matchup where the Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a combined 51M spectators in the US, Canada, and Japanese markets. MLB reported this marks the most-watched World Series Game 7 since the 1991 showdown between the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

Last Saturday’s epic contest secured over 27 million audience members on Fox Sports networks, its Spanish-language channel and their digital services. According to Nielsen, it was the second highest-rated program of the week.
It also stands as the top-rated World Series matchup since the 2017 final game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew 29.07M. This represents a 16% improvement over the last Game 7 featuring the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros, which attracted 23.19M.
In the Nielsen ratings, Game 6 ranked fourth, Game 4 was 7th, the fifth game was 8th, and Game 3 finished in 13th position.
Global Audience Figures
In Canada, the game drew over 11 million viewers on Sportsnet and the French TVA Sports channel. This made it the highest-rated English broadcast in the country since the 2010 edition Vancouver Winter Olympics.
In the Japanese market, where the final contest began at 9 p.m. local time, it averaged 12M. This came after last Friday’s sixth game – in which World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed one run in six innings – drew 13.1 million spectators, making it the most-watched Fall Classic game on a sole broadcaster in the country.
Overall Totals and Trends
The full seven-match series drew 15.71M viewers on the Fox network, a two percent increase from the previous year’s Dodgers versus Yankees series. This marks the first time since 2015 and 2016 that the World Series has recorded viewership increases for two consecutive years.
Including the Game 1 telecast on the Univision network, the complete American average reached over 16 million. The total Fall Classic viewership in Japan was 9.7M and 8.1M in Canada.
The full MLB Postseason on Fox and its sister channels recorded 8.09 million watchers, an 8% rise over the previous year and Fox’s strongest postseason performance since 2017.
Major League Baseball announced that the Fall Classic was broadcast in 203 countries and territories by 44 broadcasting partners in sixteen different tongues.
