It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the result of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was out her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

In recent days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
